Nitzavim VaYelech excerpts

נצבים-וילך

Shabbat Shalom,

This is one of those two Torah portion weekends. B"H the two together are shorter than Parshat Naso.

Chapter 30- Talks more about blessings and curses. Not like Hymie who curses everybody who leads the Musaf or gives a speech in this shule...Talking curses of exile and other curses like Sudanese...
Then the Torah goes on- when the blessings and the curses end and you will then return in your heart...and you will return to H'
And H' will return you to Israel...we first have to return to H'. We have to take a step. That is the relationship. Every one of you here always complains about free will. Doesn't H' know what we are going to do? WahWahWah? Always when you start doing something that takes a little effort. First thing you do is complain. Free will...you never complain about free will when you are gambling away all your family money at the casino or drinking your life away Dr. Goldfarb...

Being here is like a curse. With you people who always complain and curse...Kiddush is a curse with the kichel and borscht...

30:6- 'And H' will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring to love H'...with all your heart and all your soul, so that you will live.'
Ibn Ezra- Circumcise your heart, to help remove the block we have to do Teshuva.
We all have an aversion to circumcision. I understand it is hard. Rachel has no aversion, as we saw her video taping last weeks Bris. Mazel Tov to the great grandparents of the Feinstein's on their great grandchild's circumcision, as you donate money to the shule, unlike your greanchildren...We have to remove that block, to return to H', so that we can get out of this town with no kosher restaurants....
'So that you will live.' What is living? Definitely not sushi for a shmorg. A shmorg with no pigs in the blanket- not living...Living is circumcising your heart. Cut a little piece of your heart...the selfish piece of your heart that keeps you from sending your children to university, the piece of your heart that keeps you drunk, the piece of your heart that is the reason we cannot get a minyan in this shule...And allow your whole heart to be open to living.
I do not know what living means, but I can tell you that Menachem's Bar Mitzvah is not living. The band sucked. I think it was a DJ...Living is Motown...Living is Mordechai Ben David and Shweky...not Britney, Justin or Christina...every day, it is curse to have to listen to that.
May we merit to circumcise these boring Simchas.
