Toldot Excerpts

תולדות
Shabbat Shalom

Why do people not get along?
I look at your children and I know. It is you. The parents. You all want to be the popular one. The successful one... You see your kids acting nasty and you think they are cool...No. You are a loser Pinny. You look up to your kid...He is in the third grade and he doesn't share his pencil. Other kids think he is decent because...The 'It' kid? He is the oldest kid in the class. You started him a year late. He is a September baby...If one of you was successful, we would have the building finally built, There would be dues paid.

(28:3) Yitzchak gives Yakov a blessing when sending Yakov to Charan. '...you will be a congregation of people.' A congregation.
How? (28:2) Taking wives from Charan. Not from Canaan. The right mothers is what makes a people. A people that is a congregation. A people together... You don't chose a mom from Topeka... Maybe from Wichita, Salina, Linexa.
(28:4) That is how you get Israel. You come back with the right wives.
We are outside of Israel and we are raising our kids wrong. How are we to come back to Israel right?

(28:6-8) Esav, the reason Yakov leaves- because he plans to kill Yakov, hears Yitzchak's message that the women of Canaan 'are bad.' He married Cananite women already. That is what Cananite women do, they make their husbands want to kill. Have you seen the Bromostein family? The men are all crazy...The wife influences the family.

Now he goes to Yishamel to marry one of his descendants. He goes for another cousin...But he is still married to the Cananite women. Yishmaelite women may not be that bad. But when you mix them with the Cananite women, it all goes to shot.
Sometimes you cannot ignore the bad you have. The evil that is there. The Bromostein children...

I would like to play too. But they are a bunch of bullies.
The kids will never get along with these animals...Then work on yourselves as Topekans.
