Noach excerpts
פרשת נח
Shabbat Shalom
...there are bad people, kind of like the shule board...so H' decides to wipe out the world...the bad people won't do Teshuvah (repent)...Does this sound familiar?
Your rabbi wants to start a learning program in the synagogue and what does he hear? It takes funding...I have to pay for a home...I have day school to pay for...I have to eat...All very poor excuses.
7:4- '...And I will erase all the existing, that I made, from upon the earth'
Upon the flood, H' makes a decision to start over.
Sometimes we have to erase stuff. Sometimes we have to start over...H' decides to erase His creations...
How hard that must have been. To be able to say- This is just not good, The board is made up of imbeciles...
It was hard last week to say to the sisterhood that the kiddush was just not good...but we emulate H' and we have to say that it was the board's fault...
Lets go through the board and reasons to erase it...
It shouldn't be hard for all of us to start all over. I am sure that it was easy to renovate the Pinkerfold's home...We all saw how horrific it was and the paint job.
The new design of the pulpit is totally disgusting. I would say that Marvin Freeman is an evil man and his design has to be destroyed.
Rivka is messed up. I know as a dad it is hard to have to redo that. Dov had 3 children. How many of them turned out...Sometimes you have to have another baby who will walk around with clothes in the supermarket.
Sometimes we have to erase. (Perfect time as the rabbi to go off on the whole shule with this message of redoing and erasing- there are people in every shule with a lot of issues- inspire them and let them know they should be erased)...
Sorry about the flood in the mens' bathroom. That is the board's fault.
***These are excerpts from the sermon. For the sermon in its entirety, come see David Kilimnick perform at the Off The Wall Comedy Basement, in downtown Jerusalem.
David also tours as a Maggid with very few stories, if you invite him.
