Pikudei Excerpts
Shabbat Shalom
What bothers you?
When Bernie Chuchs throughout the services, that bothers everybody.
When my coat is missing from the coat room, because somebody else wears a trench coat in the congregation. That bothers me. Sometimes, they also have luggage on a carousel. I have luggage on the carousel too...
We all know there was a big sale at Walmart last week and they sold out of the new monkey wrench. It is disturbing. It bothers you.
(39:7) Stones of remembrance, bearing the names of the tribes of Israel, were placed on the robe/Ephod. On the shoulder of the Kohen, he bore the names of the Children of Israel. The tribes is what he placed on his shoulders. Not for mardi gras.
(39:14) The 12 stones placed in the breastplate, were according to the tribes- sons of Israel.
On the heart and on the weighing on the shoulders. The Children of Israel. The emotion and physical being was focused on the greater community. He didn't constantly complain that there is no ramp for himself, so that he can get into shule easier...We have our own wheelchair in our hearts, Elvin...
(39:21) The breastplate and Ephod were attached through the rings, as H' commanded Moses.
Both bearing the tribes of Israel. We attach the weight of our shoulders to our heart. We make them one.
What is written on your stones? What is placed on your shoulders.
Kevin bears his failed marriage on his shoulders, wherever he goes. Mark bears a failed business, which led to a failed marriage on his shoulders. Elvin bears the fact that he never shows up on time...
Who bears the weight of our people? The Congregation? A Kiddush that is decent?
May what bother us, also bother all the people of Israel. Amen.
