Tazria excerpts
תזריע
Shabbat Shalom
There are four different kinds of Tzaraas, which is a whitening of the skin, which is considered to make somebody impure. I am not talking about the extremely pale complexion of this congregation. Which makes it quite disturbing to give a Dvar Torah...H' created the sun for a reason.
What makes us impure? What fills our hearts? What is Michael thinking about in the back of the shule right now?
(13:12-13) Somebody's body who is full of white, is now considered pure. A little white patch is considered to make a person impure. A body that becomes fully covered in white, is all of the sudden considered pure.
R' Hirsch has an interesting commentary on this, where he says that the person is not quarantined, because he is so corrupt a person- he is beyond becoming impure. His whole skin should become this Tzaraas, there is no reason to make him impure and quarantine him. The quarantining is there to get the person to start to think about what they have done, in the hopes that they will change.
According to Rabbi Hirsch, it would seem that people can only become impure, if there is a way for them to learn from it and to repent.
Mike is so involved in his gaming. It is an addiction. And when something becomes an addiction, such as making a bad kiddush...
You cannot give musar to somebody who so involved in their wrongdoings, such as Lashon Hara (speaking bad) which this community always does, that they are not willing to see outside of it. They are stuck in their bubble. This community is stuck in a bubble of paying people the same salaries they were making in the 1980s. Michael, in the back there is stuck in the 1970s, with that long hair and the AC DC shirt. This whole community has been stuck indoors for the past 5 months...pale as sin...What are you wearing an AC DC shirt to shule for? This isn't Israel. We don't accept poorly dressed people into this congregation...That calls for banishment...
This community is stuck inside its bubble of Tzaras. You talk about each other, because there is nothing exciting that happens...You are not impure because you have no hope. Your whole life is impure. This community has been quarantined from light and some decent choolante...
Have you seen how pale you are? You are definitely sinning...It might still be winter, but you people are transparent. I don't think you have seen sun in the past ten years.
Ahh...there is another Parsha...I think it is fine if we focus on Tazria and hit the Mitzorah stuff next time.
