VaEiyrah Excerpts

Shabbat Shalom

Why does Paroh constantly want his magicians to bring the plagues too? They are getting hit by plagues and he wants to get hit again, by more. Not bad enough? 'We will make it worse for ourselves than you can...we will also make our water not drinkable.' Kind of like the new ForkoMart soda. Who buys that for a congregation? We understand that the Feinblum family has it hard in their house and they like the 3 liter bottles, but not for a congregation. You don't make it worse for the people. You bring brands for kiddush. Unless if it is the ForkoMart apple soda.
No herring at Kiddush?!....

Great Oneg last night. All the single people. I didn't even realize they were still living here.
We should close the shul and just have Onegs. They don't come for shul...As Brian said, 'It helps the people keep Shabbat.' This shul is the worst thing for Shabbat. It is like a swarm of wild beasts at the kiddush....

(8:19-28) Swarm of wild beasts. This gets Paroh to say, 'Go and serve your Gd'...It wasn't the kids running the halls.
Moshe says he will pray to Gd to stop the wild beasts 'only that Paroh doesn't continue to mock, to not send the nation to sacrifice to H.'' And of course, after all is said and done, and the swarm of wild beasts is stopped 'Paroh hardens his heart, also this time, and doesn't send the nation.' Kind of like when we gave Simone candy and he said that he would behave and right after he got the candy, he started running the halls like an animal...When it is good and you have the power, your real feelings come out. Like the gabbai, who hasn't ever thanked the Cornwitz family.
He hardens his heart like Mike, who doesn't share his armrest. We see it. This is free will, to not even do fruntsies backsies with the rest.
Like Karen, who constantly looks at Mrs. Fergenbaum's hat with disdain...We all hate it Karen, but she is a good woman. Let her be....
Like Marcie, who has yet to have donated a Kiddush.
He does the hardening...Because when it is easy and you don't care about other people, you can harden your heart Bernie. That is what evil people do.
When it is hard, you are nice. When you need them. Like the video guy who was shooting the documentary of the shul. Got the footage and we never hear from him again. All nice when he needed us. Now we have to send a cease and desist.

Brian at the Oneg however, a good man. He gave of his home...

(9:1-7) Then we see the same story with pestilence on the livestock. He hardens his heart.

The warnings stop with the next plague. We see the pattern, why even tell Paroh. He doesn't deserve to know. Marcie doesn't deserve to know when there is a kiddush. Make it rain...
(9:8-10) But no warning and they end up bringing the boils, by taking the dust of the earth and throwing it into the air. Kind of the same way ForkoMart makes its soda.

(9:11-12) Paroh's magicians couldn't do the boil plague, because they had boils. And now Paroh's heart his hardened by H.'
No turning back once you are evil. You program yourself for bad and it will be there. The bad of Paroh is now controlled by H.' He has already shown his negative self.
The warnings can stop.
I am not going to warn you the next time I go on vacation. Because you don't allow me to enjoy the company of my family.
The next oneg, we are not telling the shul. Because the singles don't need to be hitting on Fran. Why did you show up Fran...She is single. Good point. The college kids have to get over themselves...The kids don't want the boils Fran.

(9:14-16) Moshe is told to tell Paroh that this time H' will bring all the plagues against his heart.
The stuff that will hurt Paroh himself. Like ForkoMart soda. 'So that you will know that there is none like Me in all the land.'
Against the heart. That is the only way to hurt somebody who cares less about community...But do they even have a heart?

H' continues that He only didn't kill Paroh yet 'to show My strength and so that My name will be talked about in all the land.'
We are talking about how bad this ForkoMart soda drink is. It is the plague of food coloring. The ForkoMart plague exists by us, because we have relinquished our right to free will...
If we make the kiddush more pleasant, like the oneg, maybe the single people would come. Get some cocktails going.
Do we still have free will? Or do we need the wild beasts running around the shul, before we realize we have messed up, and 'we must go'? When are you going to allow your rabbi to 'Go and serve your Gd'?
