Shabbat Shalom

Paroh has a dream, a couple times, and there is a problem. Now they need Yosef. All the sudden, they remember Yosef. Kind of like, when you needed a rabbi at the Stern residence, to Kasher the kitchen (make the kitchen Kosher). All of the sudden they remember their rabbi and how they haven't been to shule or paid dues...

(41:31) 'And the plenty (from the years of plenty) in the land will not be known, because of the famine that will happen after it (the seven years of famine after the seven years of plenty), because it will be too great.'

What an amazing teaching...How we forget the good when we have it bad...I had arthritis...I remember when I was a rabbi back in Wichita 15 years ago. Loved it. But you move to a shule like this, and you forget the good people.

Remember the years with the hot kiddush?...No. Now we get nasty little gefiltte fish bites...
It is hard to remember the good when we have it bad.

However, like Yosef, through divine providence, tells the Egyptians to save, for those bad years are coming...With this congregation, one not be a sadist to realize that things go bad. We must remember the good children. The ones that grew up during the 1980s. Though they got more annoying and selfish over the years, we must hold onto the good ones. Not to let the good ones go, as we try to dissuade our memory of our failures with the new kids...

If we prepare correctly, we will need not think of our wasted investments in this generation...Many of us invested in the USA...Think of the years before...Let us prepare for a future of success, and may we only see the plenty, the beauty, the people of Wichita who pay their dues and don't care about kosher kitchens...the people of Wichita with children who are not like the Menser Mishpuchi. May we be blessed to hold have that good to get us through Shabbatot like this, with...
